Support the 2014 Pan-Mass Challenge at Kappy’s in July

The Pan-Mass Challenge raises money for life-saving cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through an annual bike-a-thon that crosses the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Cyclists, who raise money to participate, ride a variety of long distances rides each year, with this year’s race taking place August 2-3. We have been a proud supporter of the PMC since 1998 and are excited to once again partner with Kappy’s to help raise funds this year - $1.00 of every Harpoon or UFO 12-pack sold at select Kappy’s in July with go to the PMC! Bob Selby of Kappy’s and a good friend of Harpoon, has a long history with the PMC. Here’s his story:
How long have you been part of the PMC?
My first PMC was 1985 making this year my 30th year of participation. Larry Burak, our accountant, will be riding his 24th PMC.
Why do you ride?
I ride the PMC because it's a great cause, a lot of fun, and the riding and training is really good for you.
What are you looking forward to most this year?
I am most looking forward to connecting with friends I have made over the years. The best memories of the past PMC’s I’ve been a part of is the huge feeling of camaraderie; 5000 plus riders and about 5000 volunteers all coming together for the same cause and to reach the same goal. It’s great to be a part of something so important!
Any plans for post-ride libations?
Of course! I will have several Harpoons after the ride each day, and I usually drink a UFO Hefeweizen or UFO White – both refreshing after a long ride!
