Frequently Asked Questions about Visiting our Boston Brewery

Come Visit Us Any questions you have about visiting us at the brewery are probably answered below.  If not, feel free to give us a call at 617-456-2322 or email harpoonbeerhall@harpoonbrewery.com.

Q: I  heard Tastings will be discontinued. Is that true?
A: Yes, on 4/4 we said farewell to Harpoon Tastings and the end of an era.  After more than two decades of weekday Tastings, we transitioned to guided tours of the brewery (which include a Tasting!!) seven days a week.  The new catwalk tour path gives tour goers an up-close view of the brewery.  You are able to see, smell, hear, and – yes, taste! – everything going on at the Harpoon Brewery. See Brewery Tours for more information.

Q: Can I purchase a ticket for a tour in advance?
A: Tickets for Tours are available only on the day of the Tour.  We begin selling Tour tickets when we open at 11:00am.  On busy weekends, it is advisable to purchase Tour tickets early to ensure a spot on a tour that day… we have limited capacity and tickets sell out fast!

Q: What's the best way to get to the brewery?
A: We highly recommend taking Boston's public transit system (the "T"). We are at the Harbor Street stop on the Silver line. From South Station, hop on the SL2 bus and ask to be dropped off at Harbor Street. Our brewery is directly across the street.  Directions and parking info

Q: Is there parking at the brewery?
A: Visitors to the brewery will find parking options to be metered parking on Northern Avenue and a Pay Parking Garage across the street from the brewery (also on Northern Avenue). Taking the Silver Line to the Brewery is HIGHLY recommended.

Q: Can I bring a dog to the brewery?
A: Dogs and other pets are not allowed.  This prohibition does not apply to service animals assisting individuals.

Q: Can I buy a growler to go?

A: Yes! Come to the Brewery Store in the Visitor Center to have a growler filled. Find out what's on tap

Q: Do I have to wait in line if I just want to make a retail purchase (e.g. buy a growler)?

A: We reserve limited capacity for retail-only customers during busy times.  If you wish to shop in the Brewery Store, please inquire with the front door staff.  Please note that retail customers entering the brewery under these circumstances are restricted to the Brewery Store only.

Q: Can I come in and buy a beer at the bar?

A: Yes, our Beer Hall is now serving pints and fresh pretzels!

Q: Is there a restaurant at the brewery?
A: We do not have a restaurant at the brewery but we do serve fresh pretzels. There are several excellent local restaurants located within walking distance of the brewery that also serve Harpoon beer! Just ask us for more information when you visit.

Q: How can I plan a private event hosted at the brewery?
A: We offer private group opportunities at our visitor center and beer hall. Please contact us via email for details and to reserve a spot.

Q: Do I have to be 21+ to enter the Visitor Center & Beer Hall?
A: All visitors must be at least 21 years old, with the exception of infants and children accompanied by a parent.  Harpoon reserves the right to deny admission to anyone under 21 at any time.

We look forward to your visit!
