What is Harpoon Helps?

Since the beginning, Harpoon has strived to be a good neighbor. In 2003, Harpoon Helps was created to do just that. As the philanthropic arm of the Harpoon Brewery, Harpoon Helps donates thousands of dollars in merchandise, many, many barrels of beer, and hundreds of volunteer hours each year to support local charities throughout New England.

Who is Harpoon Helps, you ask? Harpoon Helpers are drawn from Harpoon Brewery staff and Friends of Harpoon (a customer loyalty program). Since we started the Friend of Harpoon Program about five years ago, we have learned that Friends of Harpoon are true representatives of our motto, "Love Beer. Love Life." We've also learned that they care about the quality of life of those around them in New England. Now that we have such a great group of Friends of Harpoon, we thought it was time to get out there and do something good for our communities as a group!

Several times a month we invite Friends of Harpoon and Harpoon staff members to participate in a Harpoon Helps mission. Each mission is different. There may be missions in Boston, Vermont, Maine, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, or Connecticut. Past missions have included sorting food at the Greater Boston Food Bank, an American Red Cross blood drive, serving meals at the Wayside Soup Kitchen in Portland, and volunteering at a Harpoon road race to raise money for ALS research.
