This is a part time position in the Boston brewery.

Position Overview:

Boston Tour Guides are the key component of the visitor’s experience at the Harpoon Brewery. The Tour guides lead a tour of the brewery and a tasting of Harpoon beer, as well as provide information on Harpoon and beer in general. Of equal or greater importance are the less tangible elements that the Tour Guide brings to the visitor’s experience. These include the Tour Guide’s people skills, inherent enthusiasm, and the ability to make each visitor feel special. The Tour Guide is on the front line of representing a leading craft beer brand, and standards of job performance and professionalism are set accordingly. The position reports to the Visitor Center Manager.

Candidate Profile:

The candidate must be a mature, team player who has a genuine enthusiasm for beer, Harpoon and people. Personal integrity, people skills, and professionalism are a prerequisite.

Responsibilities:

Providing informative weekend tours and tastings at the Boston brewery
Merchandise/beer stocking and maintenance
Selling merchandise and beer at the Visitor Center
Operating electronic cash register
Greeting visitors to the brewery
Basic bar-back work (changing kegs, cleaning glassware, etc.)
Assisting Visitor’s Center Manager with busy midweek tastings
Opportunities to work additional hours at periodic Harpoon festivals and promotional programs

Hours:

10 to 20 hours per week, depending on schedule
Scheduling flexibility is available
Must be able to work weekends and holidays

Master schedule:

Thursday: 3:30 pm to 7:30 pm

Friday: 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm

Saturday: 10:00 am to 6:00 pm

Sunday: 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm

Requirements:
Dependability, enthusiasm, cheerful and professional demeanor, a willingness to learn, a demonstrated interest in beer. A background in the retail or bar/restaurant industry is preferred. Must be 21 plus.
