Harpoon Helps Mission: Beach Cleanup Day (Rye, NH)

Date :20-Aug-2008 Wednesday
Time :06:30 PM - 08:00 PM
Type :Harpoon Helps

We need YOU to help us keep New Hampshire beaches clean. So join us for a beach clean up Wednesday, August 20 from 6:30 PM to 8 PM at Jenness Beach in Rye, NH. We will be helping the folks from the Blue Ocean Society maintain the beach and monitor the types of trash collected.

And after we volunteer, we'll go grab a beer!

The Blue Ocean Society is based in seacoast New Hampshire, with an office in Greenland, NH. Blue Ocean was founded by two whale watch naturalists who were frustrated with the lack of translation of open ocean research into information that could be used by the public. Blue Ocean hopes by sharing information with the public and resource managers, more people will be inspired to learn more about the marine environment and help protect it.

Jenness Beach State Park is located on Route 1A in Rye. We will meet at the entrance to the beach by the seawall.

You can learn more about the Blue Ocean Society and the clean up by visiting their website.
