Harpoon Helps Mission: Portland, ME

For our second Harpoon Helps mission in Maine, on Wednesday, March 15th, we helped our friends at the Wayside Evening Soup Kitchen in Portland. The Wayside Evening Soup Kitchen is currently in its seventeenth year serving hot, nutritious, evening meals to the homeless and poor of southern Maine. In the evenings, the kitchen provides a sit down meal, "restaurant-style." It is open seven nights a week, 365 days a year. On March 15th from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm, Harpoon Helpers served the over 200 people who come to the Kitchen for a good hot meal.

After the mission, we went to a local watering hole, Bleachers, at 118 Preble St, to enjoy a pint of Harpoon!

The Wayside Evening Soup Kitchen is located at the Community Resource Center, 252 Oxford Street in Portland.
