We need YOU to help green up the Potomac! Harpoon Helps is joining the 20th Annual Potomac River Watershed Cleanup on Saturday, April 5, 2008, from 9 AM to 12 PM. You'll meet the Harpoon team leader at the Oxon Cove National Park/Oxon Hill Farm in Prince George's County, Maryland.
Trash bags and gloves will be provided to all volunteers. Feel free to bring along your own work gloves, rakes, or grabbers. Clothes and shoes may get dirty. Wear old clothing that is weather appropriate and bring extra layers. If working near water, waterproof boots or waders may be helpful.
The Potomac River Watershed Cleanup is the largest cleanup in the watershed, with more than 8,000 volunteers participating. Last year, volunteers removed 291 tons of trash from DC, MD, VA, PA, and WV.
And don't forget that after the mission, we will head up to a local watering hole to enjoy a pint of Harpoon!
