Harpoon Helps Spread Holiday Cheer Gift Drive

WE NEED GIFTS!!  No, not for us. They’re for the men, women, and kids at the shelters we’re decorating for the 3rd Annual Harpoon Helps Spread Holiday Cheer.  This year we’re visiting 32 shelters throughout New England to decorate for the holidays.  We thought it’d be great to be able to leave a little something extra for the folks that could use it the most during this season, so this year we started the Harpoon Helps Gift Drive.

We received holiday wish lists from all of the shelters we’re decorating and we need you to help us fulfill these wish lists.  Much of the list consists of gift cards to various stores like Target and Wal-Mart.  These gift cards will enable parents in the family shelters to go out and purchase gifts of their choosing for their kids – something that will be special, just from them.  The Dunkin Donuts gift cards (only $5 each!), will buy several cups of coffee for hundreds of homeless men and women at the Pine Street Inn.  There’s a need for socks, gloves, deodorant, tooth paste, and all sorts of things from several other shelters. 

As you will see, the list is long.  There are a lot of people out there that you could use a little (or big) pick-me-up, especially around this time of year.  We’re asking you, Friends of Harpoon, to help us make it happen.

Volunteer as a Harpoon Helper as we spread holiday cheer throughout Boston and beyond for the 3rd Annual Harpoon Helps Spread Holiday Cheer. On Saturday, December 2nd, we will be sending Harpoon Helpers to various locations throughout Boston (shelters, soup kitchens, play spaces, etc.) and this year, we will also be helping spread holiday cheer in cities all over New England, including Portland, ME, Worcester, MA, Providence, RI, Hartford, CT, and Manchester, NH.

2. If you are a Friend of Harpoon, you can attend a Winter Warmer Tasting and Gift Drive in either Boston (Nov. 21) or Windsor, VT (Nov. 16). More details on www.friendofharpoon.com.
