Harpoon Draft Sodas

The origins of Harpoon Soda are very similar to those of Harpoon beer: we wanted something that we could not find on store shelves or behind the bar.

For many years, there was a gap in our drinking experiences when we wanted something without alcohol.  There were lots of choices, but we still thirsted for a drink with the taste and heritage of a brewery-made beverage.  We were nostalgic for the sodas produced by breweries during Prohibition.  Why not make that available today?

With the inspiration of Prohibition-era breweries, Harpoon launched its line of hand crafted sodas.  We chose classic American soda flavors with a rich taste and full body.  We had in mind the old days when drinking a soda was a treat, something to be enjoyed and savored.  So, we went to work making root beer, orange cream, and cream soda in small, hand crafted batches.  As with Harpoon beer, we do not use preservatives.  The fresh, distinctive flavors of these sodas speak for themselves and, with hope, will remind drinkers why having a soda used to be a special occasion.  It still is for us!

Where can Harpoon Draft Sodas be found?

At present, availability of Harpoon’s sodas is limited.  You can taste and purchase Harpoon Draft Soda at the Harpoon breweries in Boston and Windsor, and find it in some stores and restaurants in the surrounding areas.

Root Beer:

During the Prohibition, many breweries converted to root beer production. Our premium root beer honors this tradition with a creamy body and a robust flavor of vanilla, anise, and cassia.

Orange & Cream:

Enjoy the soda fountain taste of this classic in our special recipe for orange & cream soda. Natural orange and mandarin flavors create a smooth, refreshing soda with a creamy mouthfeel.

Cream Soda:

Experience the joy of old-fashioned American sodas in this full-bodied draft cream soda. A hint of vanilla and a rich, creamy body make our cream soda exceptionally smooth and delicious.
