No Frills

A no frills 148-mile ride from the Harpoon Brewery in Boston, MA to the Harpoon Brewery in Windsor, VT through some pretty hilly country. There will be decent ride support including 2 designated rest stops and a fluid station, but this is not the Pan-Mass Challenge. Only experienced cyclists that can handle 150 miles in one day at an absolute bare minimum pace of 16 MPH should consider this challenge. The spirit of the ride is that you should act like you are riding on your own.

Cyclists need to be able to complete the ride, including rest stops in 10 hours or less (the rider must also be prepared to ride for long stretches by themselves if they get dropped by their group).

We just will not have the support system to handle people still out on the course for several hours after everyone is finished. Please keep this in mind when considering it.

148 miles point to point
That said, this is a very rewarding and challenging point-to-point cycling event with a great party at the end and a fun bus ride back to Boston. Lots of fun despite the inevitable suffering!

Cue sheets and Route map
The Cue sheet and a route map/elevation profile will be provided to each rider and are also posted here on the web site. Route will be marked with arrows on roadway at major intersections. The Cue sheet will also contain a phone number to call in case of major mechanical failure.

Wave leaders and sweepers
Each wave will have a designated leader and sweeper from Boston through Arlington. Riders are asked to stay together as a group in single file through the urban area (approximately first 20 miles) to ensure proper and safe navigation through the urban area of the ride. After reaching Route 128/95, riders and/or groups may break away at will.
