Mardi Gras Madness at Dick's Last Resort (Boston)

For the past 12 years, Dick's Last Resort has been celebrating Mardi Gras in the spirit of New Orleans. This year, the Fat Tuesday madness, mayhem, and hoopla is going to better than ever.

Multi-colored beads will be flyin’ when Boston rocks to Mardi Gras Madness 2008 at Dick's Last Resort on Tuesday, February 5, from 5 P.M. ‘til whenever. We have gotten Dick’s to agree to open the door for Friends of Harpoon at 4:30 PM for a special pre-party for Friends. At this party with complimentary appetizers, all Friends with their Friend of Harpoon card will have a Harpoon pint purchased for them by Harpoon and they’ll receive a complimentary Harpoon glass!

Entertainment for the night will be from Boston's hip and happenin’ SOUL CITY. Dick's is located in Quincy Market at Faneuil Hall Marketplace.

MEET, GREET AND WIN CASH
In celebration of Fat Tuesday ( which means “a party with really big piles of food” ), Dick wants everyone to eat 'til they bust.   In keeping that interesting visual image in mind, there’ll be a “Best Costume Contest” on February 5 with the winner receiving TWICE his or her weight in CASH. Talk about rollin’ in dough.    Caricaturist Chris Vlahakis ("The Madman With A Marker) will also be in the house to capture the interesting mugs of those who wish to have them captured.

Dick’s full menu of eats will be available, from mouth-waterin’ ribs to chicken, beef, crab legs, lobster and more.   The Big Guy is also servin’ up special Mardi Gras Beverages including Southern Comfort Hurricanes for $2.75 each and Harpoon IPA, priced at $2.50 each with a keeper glass. 

RAISING FUNDS FOR  A GOOD CAUSE
As a part of its continuing commitment to community causes, Dick’s Last Resort will be collecting donations for The Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation.  For a measly ONE DOLLAR donation, patrons will receive a paper Mardi Gras mask upon which they may scrawl their John Hancock.  The colorful masks will be used to decorate the restaurant, and the generous donor will receive their own personal string of glistening Mardi Gras beads.    All proceeds will benefit The MC-LEF.

The Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation is dedicated to providing scholarships and financial educational support to the children of active duty Marines and Federal law enforcement personnel killed in the line of duty.  One hundred percent of all donations go directly to the assistance of these children. No administration costs of any type are charged to the foundation. Founded in 1995, The Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation has distributed aid with a value of more than $25,000,000.00 to eligible children and is rated as a Four Star Charity by Charity Navigator and certified as one of America's Best Charities by Independent Charities of America.

To add to the usual Mardi Gras hoopla, Dick has bribed his notorious servers to dress for the occasion in their most garish garb ( which is saying something at Dick’s ! ).  And since everybody loves Free Stuff,  Dick’s is loading up on shiny doubloons,  feathery masks and lots of other tacky  junk to share with the Check–Your–Inhibitions–At–The–Door masses !
