Maple Tap Imperial Porter

In 2014, we visited our friends at the Scrag Mt. Sugar House in Waitsfield, VT to source over 100 pounds of local, organic maple syrup to brew with a hearty porter in this rich addition to our occasional releases. Local ingredients combine with brewing tradition to make for one enjoyable tribute to the change of New England seasons.

A subtle, dark, roasted character complements the rich maple sugar in the finish. Substantial head retention shows off the sweet, nutty, dark-sugar aroma, balanced by Willamette hops.

Tasting Notes:
  • Appearance: Semi-bright deep chestnut color
  • Aroma: Maple, burnt brown sugar, roasted nut, mocha
  • Mouth feel: Moderate alcohol with a sweet finish, medium bodied
  • Taste: Maple, dark candy sugar, moderate alcohol, roasted malt
  • Finish: Sweet, lasting finish, with a bit of roast
