Reflecting on the 2019 Harpoon 5-Miler

May 21, 2019

We had an amazing day on Sunday, May 19th at our 18th Annual Harpoon 5-Miler presented by Reebok. Over 5000 runners, volunteers, and spectators helped us raise $250,500 (and climbing!) for The Angel Fund, which supports critical ALS research by Dr. Robert Brown and his team at UMASS Medical Center. This was one of our favorite Harpoon 5-Milers EVER, and we couldn’t have done it without everyone who joined us in this important fight. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for an amazing day!

Fundraising Awards

Jill Mulligan was our largest individual fundraiser, raising over $3,500 (and climbing!) for The Angel Fund. Team Michael won their fourth straight Scott Carlson Award, raising $25,815.00 in honor of their captain Erica’s Southerland’s father, Michael. To date, they’ve raised over $120,000 for The Angel Fund since their captain Erica first ran in 2012. Congrats again Jill, Erica, and Team Michael!

Thank You to Our Amazing Sponsors!

Despite the rain, we had quite a party back at the brewery. We poured 143 kegs of beer (over 14,000 beers!), stuffed our faces with North Country Smokehouse and Bertucci’s, hydrated with Polar and Everybody Water, enjoyed treats from Snyder’s, Clif and Yasso, and danced the afternoon away to the sounds of DJ Steve Greco. And the biggest thank you of all goes out to our presenting sponsor, Reebok!

We raise a glass to all of you, and we can’t wait to see you next year!

Check out our album of race photos here! Thousands of runners photos will be available later this week. Thanks for your patiences, runners, as Gameface Media gets them ready for you. We can’t wait for you to see them!

Ales for ALS!

The fight against ALS certainly isn’t over now that the Harpoon 5-Miler is behind us. In honor of ALS Awareness Month in May, we’ve tapped our Ales for ALS beer at our Boston & VT breweries.

$1 per pint sold of this Hoppy Amber Ale will go to the ALS Therapy Development Institute.

Swing on by our Beer Hall in Boston, MA or the Harpoon Riverbend Taps and beer Garden in Windsor, VT to drink a great beer for a great cause. Cheers!
