We Stand with Ukraine: A Message from our CEO and Co-Founder Dan Kenary

Under the leadership of President Zelensky, the Ukrainian people are showing the world the power of defiance and strength in the face of violent atrocities. It is inspiring. Despite Ukrainian resolve, Putin and his Russian enablers continue their assault on the cities and families of Ukraine. While we have been watching with a mixture of horror, sadness, frustration and anger, we’ve also been asking how we can help.
The day after the invasion began, I was talking with one of my fellow employee-owners whose family is from Poland. He was telling me of a friend who owns a hotel and restaurant not far from the Ukraine border. He was already seeing refugees arrive looking for a hot meal and maybe a place to stay for a few days. He was doing everything he could to help, and we agreed that we should do what we can, too.
The colors of our new Harpoon Summer Style beer happen to match those of the beautiful Ukrainian flag, so we’ve decided that in addition to the $2,800 donation we made back in March, we will donate $1 per pint for every Summer Style sold in our Harpoon Beer Hall in Boston and Harpoon Brewery Taproom and Beer Garden in Windsor, VT to support the people of Ukraine. All funds will be donated directly to Razom, a verified non-profit born out of the Revolution of Dignity in 2014, an earlier time when heroic Ukrainians yet again risked (and lost) their lives standing up for freedom and democracy. We hope that in some small way this can help contribute to a free, fully restored and peaceful Ukraine.
